Youth Ministry Curriculum for Teen Mental Health
Teens today are struggling with issues like identity, anxiety, and loneliness. The Relationship Project gives you everything you need to guide meaningful, Christ-centered conversations on these tough topics—without the need for special training. Watch your teens open up, connect, and grow in their faith like never before.
Tackle today’s toughest topics.
As a youth ministry leader, you know the struggles teens face these days. Depression, comparison, identity, anxiety, suicide . . . it’s a lot. And it isn’t always easy to know what to say or what to do when these topics come up. That’s exactly why we created The Relationship Project.
This three-part series is designed to help youth leaders facilitate meaningful group discussions with teens on today’s most needed conversations—identity, intimacy, and mental health.
And the best part? The Relationship Project makes it easy for anyone to lead these important discussions with minimal prep work. The program trains you as you go, offering language and tools to guide teens through meaningful, Christ-centered conversations about identity, intimacy, and mental health.
Hope is found in relationship.
Combat isolation.
Teens are more connected digitally than ever, but they’re feeling isolated and alone.
The Relationship Project gives them the real, human connections they crave while guiding them to find hope in Christ. And you don’t need a full-time youth director or special training—this program equips anyone in your parish to lead these conversations. The longer we wait, the more teens miss out on this life-changing opportunity.
The Relationship Project is a powerful tool to combat isolation and disconnection. It gives teens a space to open up, share with one another, and receive Christ-centered wisdom that’s relevant to the issues they’re dealing with today.
Save time for what matters most.
We understand that your time is precious. With The Relationship Project, all the preparation is done for you. Whether you’re a parent, young adult, or leader, you can step into this role confidently, with no need for theological training or hours of prep. The Leader Guide walks you through every step and gives you the language and tools to connect with your teens on the issues that matter most.
With The Relationship Project, everything is ready for you to lead with minimal prep work.
Nearly 20% of high school students have had serious thoughts of suicide and 9% have made an attempt to take their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Relationship Project is produced by Faithtree, an organization rooted in Orthodox Christianity. While The Relationship Project curriculum makes some references to Orthodoxy, it is applicable and relevant to Christians of all denominations.
-
Each of the three parts of The Relationship Project is sold in a combined set and includes a physical Leader Guide, as well as digital access to the Leader Guide, Teaching Videos, and a library of Tutorial Videos to get you started. Physical copies of the Participant Workbooks are sold separately, so you can choose the quantity you’ll need for your group.
-
Each of the three parts includes four sessions. So if you focused on one session per week, the series would take you twelve weeks to complete. However, you can lead the series at your own pace. Some groups complete the program in as little as a week or two (for example, during a summer camp) or stretch it out over six months (for example, a Sunday school program that runs during an academic year). It’s up to you!
-
The complete series (all three parts), which includes a physical version of the Leader Guide, as well as access to the session videos, the cost is $399.
The Participant Guide, which includes a physical attendee workbook for the complete series (all three parts) is $45 per participant.
-
The series was designed for high schoolers, but we’ve successfully run it with junior highschoolers, college students, and young adults. Since it covers some heavy topics, we don’t recommend the program for kids younger than 13 years old.
-
There is not a free trial, but you can watch samples of videos on this page.
-
Once you purchase The Relationship Project, you and your team have unlimited access to all the digital content, Session Teaching Videos, Tutorial Videos, and the Leader Guides. The only thing that will be a recurring cost for your church (or the teens if you choose) are the additional Participant Workbooks as you run it with new individuals. Otherwise, what you purchase is with you for life!
-
Since the program is based on group discussion, smaller groups of 10-20 are ideal. Depending on how large your youth group is, you could watch the videos together as a larger group and then break into smaller groups for discussion time. However, we recommend a leader being present in each group to facilitate discussion.
-
Yes! Workbooks allow the participant to journal, reflect, and take notes in a private, intentional way during each session.

The Relationship Project was designed so that almost any trusted adult can step in and run the program with great success. Since the videos teach most of the theology and the script does all the heavy lifting in leading amazing conversations, your leader doesn’t need to be a youth expert or theologian to host transformative discussions with your youth. As long as your pastor has given their blessing, designated leaders can step in, follow the recipe, lead amazing sessions, and know that the teachings are in the fullness of the Faith.
